Lykkå featured by CBC: Reimagining community living in Montreal

CBC recently featured Lykkå in an article about the growing interest in community living and shared housing in Montreal.

We’re grateful for this first step in helping the Lykkå story reach a wider audience, and deeply thankful to the Lykkå community members who opened their homes, shared their experiences, and took part in the article.

While affordability is certainly part of the conversation, Lykkå has always been about something deeper too.

Over the past five years, what began as conversations around co-living slowly evolved into a broader exploration of belonging, mutual support, and how we rebuild village life in modern times.

Many people are not only looking for affordable housing. They are also looking for:

  • deeper connection

  • everyday support

  • less loneliness and overwhelm

  • stronger neighbourhood relationships

  • more sustainable ways of living

  • a sense of home, community, and shared care

We believe community can take many forms. Sometimes it looks like neighbours supporting each other more intentionally. Sometimes it looks like sharing a home, co-owning property, or creating new co-living models together.

Ultimately, we are exploring how people can weave more connected lives together.

We’re excited to begin reaching out to Montreal media and sharing more of the deeper vision, stories, and human experiences behind Lykkå as our shared journey continues to unfold.
